In a closely contested election, Yvonne Osei Addobea emerged triumphant against five other candidates, securing a total of 8282 votes, which accounts for 37.37% of the votes cast. She will succeed Frank Owusu in this role.

Having expressed her intentions to run for the presidency last year, Yvonne Osei Addobea faced previous challenges but persevered to claim victory this time. Her leadership will now face high expectations, particularly in addressing issues related to off-campus security for KNUST students.

On another note, congratulations go to Baaba Mills Christabel, who had contested in the past but now emerges as the new KNUST SRC General Secretary-Elect, having received a total of 10,721 votes.

Kelvin Ohenaku is set to take on the role of Financial Secretary, having been elected to this position.

Furthermore, Mavis Abangremah Akolbila has been elected as the Women’s Commissioner with a total of 6,080 votes, and her victory signals the restoration of the Women Commissioner’s office.

Congratulations to all the elected leaders, and may they bring positive and impactful changes to the KNUST community during their tenure.
