NaaNa Blu is a rising star in the Ghanaian music industry, hailing from the western region of Ghana. Her real name is Abigail Mensah, and she is a multilingual talent who is fluent in Fante, Twi, English, and French. After completing her education at Shama High School and the University of Education, Winneba, where she studied French, she signed with Quophimens Musiq, a Record Label and Talent Management Company.
NaaNa Blu’s performances have made waves in the industry, as she has performed at numerous high-profile events such as the Vodafone Ghana Music 2021, Western Music Awards 2021, and Kwahu Rock City Hotel, where she shared the stage with the likes of Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata, and Kwabena Kwabena. She has also won the 2021 New Artiste of the Year for Western Music Awards and been nominated for multiple music awards schemes.
NaaNa Blu’s music is a fusion of Highlife and Afro Beats, and she writes and performs predominantly in Fante, infused with French and English. Her influences include the likes of Asa, Bob Marley, Akosua Agyapong, and Fela Kuti, among others. Her EP, ‘This Is Highlife’, which features five tracks including ‘Ohia’, ‘You dey do yourself’, ‘Odo Asem’, ‘Highlife Dance’, and ‘This Is Highlife’, has gained significant attention on digital platforms, particularly on Apple Music and Boomplay.
She also has numerous singles like ‘Sugar Cane’, ‘No Pressure’, ‘Save Us’, ‘Dream Boy’, ‘Nam Pa Amapiano’, and ‘Nam Pa’.
