During their appearance before the District Magistrate Court in Tema on Monday, the prosecutor, Superintendent Sylvester Asare, informed the court that a duplicate docket had been sent to the Attorney-General’s office for study and advice.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the accused persons, and the magistrate, Benedicta Antwi, granted the request, remanding them until their next appearance on April 11, 2023.

Tetteh and Sadick have also been remanded by the Ashaiman Circuit Court along with four others: Ibrahim Abdul Rakib, Safianu Musah (also known as Dayorgu), Yusif Mohammed, and Abdul Gafaru Abdul Karim.

Tetteh and Sadick are facing charges of robbery and stealing, while the other four are facing charges of dishonestly receiving stolen items at the same court.

During the hearing, the prosecutor, who is also the Director of Legal, Criminal Investigations Department of the Police Service, renewed his plea for an adjournment to allow for further investigations into the case, which he said had reached an advanced stage.

Defense counsels opposed the request, arguing that the prosecution had been given ample time to conclude their investigations. The court asked the prosecution to expedite investigations and conclude them before the next adjourned date.

On March 4, 2023, the police received information about a male adult found dead at Ashaiman Taifa.

The police retrieved several items, including a knife with bloodstains and a backpack, during their investigations.

The backpack contained a Samsung tablet, an Apple laptop, a military uniform with the name tag “Imoro,” eight other items of clothing, a Ghana Card, and a Health Insurance card bearing the name Imoro Sherrif.

The police notified the military of the incident, and the deceased was identified as Imoro Sherrif, a soldier.

The prosecution alleges that two of the accused attempted to rob the soldier, and one of them stabbed him in the arm, while the other four bought a stolen mobile phone taken from the soldier.
