Okudjeto Ablakwa in court: High Court to deliver ruling on May 5, 2023

The High Court in Accra will make a final determination on the contempt case against Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, the North Tongu lawmaker, on May 5, 2023.

Ablakwa disclosed this in a Facebook post on April 13, 2023. He also revealed that the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) is continuing with its investigations into his conflict of interest petition involving Rev Victor Kusi Boateng/Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.

Ablakwa claims that Boateng has a double identity and conflict of interest regarding some monies paid to his company for the construction of the National Cathedral.

Lawyers of Kwabena Adu Gyamfi filed a contempt application against Ablakwa after he allegedly kicked an interim injunction obtained in connection with a defamation suit filed against him.

However, the court noted on February 21, 2023, that the lawmaker had not been properly served, and directed Rev Kusi Boateng’s lawyers to file the necessary processes with the Speaker of Parliament.

Ablakwa is urging Ghanaians to expect a fresh series of National Cathedral scandals in a few days. “The Son of Man shall not be silenced!” he added.

Rev Kusi Boateng secured a 10-day injunction on February 3, 2023, preventing Ablakwa from disclosing his private documents, correspondence, and communication.
