NPP Executives in Upper East Region Ready to Win Parliamentary Seat in 2024 Elections

Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bolgatanga-East Constituency of the Upper East Region have expressed their determination to win the parliamentary seat in the 2024 elections.

They plan to field a candidate who is financially sound, popular, and capable of defeating the current Member of Parliament for the area, Dr. Dominic Ayine of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

For the past 12 years since the creation of the constituency, the NPP has never won the parliamentary seat due to issues of disunity, lack of focus, and blame allocation among other challenges. However, the executives are determined to resolve these issues ahead of the 2024 elections.

During a recent ‘Unity Walk’ held on February 25, 2023, the executives emphasized their resolve to unseat Dr. Ayine and win the parliamentary seat for the NPP. They noted that Dr. Ayine has not done enough to merit the votes he has received and that his stay in office has not led to any significant political development in the Bolgatanga East Constituency.

The event aimed to promote unity among party members and develop strategies ahead of the 2024 elections. A prominent member of the party in the constituency, Mr. Mathew Amoah, used the occasion to urge supporters and sympathizers of the party to work together for growth.

He also encouraged the executives to focus on building unity within the party to ensure victory in the 2024 elections.
