In the latest United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network publication, the World Happiness Report, Ghana has dropped in ranking from 95th in 2021 to 111th in 2022.
The report assesses the average life evaluations of over 150 countries from the previous three years using data collected through the Gallup World Poll.
The report, released on March 20th (International Day of Happiness), ranks the happiest and least happy countries and identifies factors that contribute to greater happiness.
Finland holds the top spot for the sixth consecutive year, with Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, and the Netherlands completing the top five.
Mauritius is the highest-ranked African country at 52nd, and no African nation ranks among the top 50.
The report utilizes global survey data from various sources, with the Gallup World Poll being the most significant.
This year marks the World Happiness Report’s tenth anniversary. Mauritius is followed by Libya (86th), Cote d’Ivoire (88th), South Africa (91st), Gambia (93rd), Algeria (96th), Liberia (97th), Congo Brazzaville (99th), and Morocco (100th) in the African ranking.
