MTN FA Cup: Aduana FC, Skyy FC, Dreams FC progress to quarterfinal

Aduana Football Club secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the MTN FA Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday. Going into the game with an impressive home record, having gone unbeaten in the first half of the season, the league leaders were determined to maintain their unbeaten run on their home turf.

Despite both sides creating several scoring opportunities in the first half, neither team was able to capitalize on them, resulting in a goalless first half. However, Aduana FC was awarded a penalty in the 57th minute when Mohammed Alhassan brought down his marker in the box. Sam Adams coolly converted the penalty, giving the home side a 1-0 lead.

Despite Asante Kotoko’s best efforts to equalize, Aduana FC held on to their slim lead to secure a place in the quarterfinals.

Elsewhere, at the El-wak stadium, Legon Cities managed to scrape through to the next round with a 4-3 penalty shootout victory after a 1-1 draw in regulation time. Heart of Lions, on the other hand, were unable to maintain their first-half lead and ended up losing 2-1 to Skyy FC at the Kpando Park.

Overall, it was a thrilling day of football as teams battled it out for a place in the quarterfinals of the MTN FA Cup. Aduana FC’s victory will give them a much-needed confidence boost as they continue their pursuit of glory in the competition.
