The Entrant Status Check is an important tool for individuals who have registered for the Diversity Visa (DV) lottery program.
This program, also known as the Green Card lottery, is a way for individuals from countries with low rates of immigration to the United States to apply for permanent residency.
The DV program is conducted annually by the U.S. Department of State, and it allows up to 55,000 people to obtain Green Cards each year.
To participate, individuals must meet certain eligibility requirements, such as being from an eligible country and having at least a high school education or two years of work experience.
After registering for the DV program, applicants are given a confirmation number. This number is necessary for checking the status of their entry through the Entrant Status Check website.
It is important to keep the confirmation number in a safe place, as it will be needed to check the status of the application.
For the DV-2024 program, entrants can check their status starting at noon (EDT) on May 6, 2023, by entering their confirmation information through the Entrant Status Check link.
The registration period for DV-2024 opens on October 5, 2022, and closes on November 8, 2022, at 12:00 PM EST. Entrants should keep their confirmation number until at least September 30, 2024.
For the DV-2023 program, entrants had until September 30, 2023, to check the status of their entry through the website. The registration period for DV-2023 was from October 6, 2021, until November 9, 2021.
It is important to note that checking the status of an application does not guarantee selection for the DV program.
The Entrant Status Check simply provides information about whether the application was selected or not. If selected, applicants will need to go through additional steps in the visa application process.
