This event marked a significant step in the journey of these individuals, comprising local and international students of the Methodist Church Ghana.

The event was graced by the presence of the Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, the esteemed Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, who delivered a profound message to the gathering.

The ceremony was a culmination of a rigorous six-month journey of online study, undertaken by the graduating Disciple-Makers.

The Presiding Bishop, in his congratulatory address, acknowledged the challenges and commitment these individuals demonstrated throughout their period of study.

He highlighted the significance of their obedience to Christ’s teachings, comparing it to the scriptural story of Jesus calling His disciples while they were fishing by the Sea of Galilee (Mark 1:17).

Just as the disciples left their nets to follow Jesus, the Bishop emphasized that the act of following Christ signifies submission and abiding with Him, leading to a separation from worldly influences. This obedience, he stressed, is what makes individuals useful to God’s kingdom.

The message delved into the core philosophy of ministry among the people called Methodist. Drawing from the teachings of Jesus, the Bishop explained that ministry is an expression of the love of God, an exercise of responding to God’s call, and a practice of flowing in His love.

He reinforced that all individuals, regardless of age or background, are part of this ministry. He affirmed that everyone possesses a role in disciple-making, and the entire community contributes to building the Kingdom of God.

He further illuminated the concept of ministry as the “priesthood of all believers,” underscoring the idea that every person’s unique gifts and talents can be utilized for the service of God and humanity.

The matriculation of 260 Discipleship Students marked an exciting moment as well. The Bishop extended a warm welcome to these students, both those present physically and those joining online, highlighting the value of their commitment to spiritual growth and learning.

This emphasis on continuous learning and dedication to faith echoed the church’s dedication to nurturing the spiritual and personal development of its members.

As the ceremony concluded, the atmosphere remained charged with a sense of purpose and a renewed commitment to fulfilling the call of God through active discipleship.

The Calvary Methodist Church, under the guidance of its leadership and membership, stands as a beacon of unity and growth, fostering an environment where individuals from all walks of life can embrace their role in God’s work.
