Those appearing in court, Richard Ametorxe (Bursar), Yorm Dzikumu (Matron), and Alex Obuadi (Storekeeper), were immediately suspended by the Ghana Education Service (GES) following their arrests.

The GES has also interdicted the Bursar, Storekeeper, and Matron, and established a committee to investigate the matter within two weeks.

The incident leading to the arrests took place on the evening of Friday, May 24, 2024. A search initiated by some alumni and an assembly member as the Bursar and Matron were leaving the school uncovered a significant cache of food items, including tinned tomatoes, mackerel, cleaning agents, and insecticide spray, in the Matron’s possession.

In response to the findings, the GES has taken swift action, with a spokesperson confirming, “The Bursar, Storekeeper, and Matron have been suspended with immediate effect.”
