Police custody has been granted for three individuals who are accused of murdering a 28-year-old woman at Dwinase, near Kokotro in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti region.

Mary Akosua Agyemang, who is believed to be the main suspect and is 25 years old, allegedly confronted Vida Ennin, the deceased, for gossiping about her regarding a man they both dated.

The altercation between the two women began over who was entitled to be the fiancée of an excavator operator on Sunday evening.

Mary left the brawl and allegedly purchased a sharp knife before returning to stab Vida in the face, breast, and palm, causing her to bleed to death.

Mary, also known as Serwaa, was arrested by Bekwai police, along with Felicia Sarpong, 61, and Ernest Achirem, 63, who were accused of attempting to shield Mary from arrest.

The three were presented before the Bekwai Circuit Court on Wednesday and have been remanded in police custody to assist with investigations. They are scheduled to return to court on April 26th.
