Chris Hughton, the new head coach of Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, has emphasized the importance of winning over playing attractive football.
Speaking at his unveiling in Kumasi, Hughton stated that his priority is to lead the team to success and bring home silverware for the country, which has not won a major tournament in 41 years.
He acknowledged that there may be questions about the team’s playing style, but ultimately winning is what matters most. Hughton believes that the key to achieving this is proper preparation and selecting the right players to suit the team’s strengths.
The Black Stars’ first training session under Hughton’s leadership is scheduled to take place on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with assistant coach George Boateng supervising.
