Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the leader of Perez Chapel International, has issued a warning to Christians about the dangers of idolatry. According to him, it is contradictory for someone to claim to be a Christian while simultaneously engaging in the worship of idols.
During a Sunday Service sermon at the Perez Chapel International in Dzorwulu, the Archbishop addressed the congregation on the topic of “Powers from the Other Side.” This sermon was part of his monthly-themed series for July, titled “Who rules the Cosmic World.”
The Archbishop provided an explanation of idolatry, describing it as the act of worshiping and showing reverence to objects believed to possess spiritual powers. He urged Christians not to succumb to the pressures exerted by their families and society, tempting them to participate in ungodly practices.
According to the Archbishop, some Christians are deceived into idol worship through spiritual experiences, while others are driven by a sense of disappointment and impatience. He highlighted that certain individuals, feeling let down by God or perceiving a lack of swift divine intervention, seek alternative sources for help.
Furthermore, the Archbishop cautioned Christians against wearing amulets and talismans that are believed to possess spiritual powers. He emphasized that such adornments serve as a gateway for the “devil” to bring harm to them and their families.
