During the recently concluded road trip undertaken by a group of Ghanaians from Accra to London, an interesting revelation came to light.
The team had embarked on this journey with the intention of establishing a partnership with a local company, Kantanka Automobile.
Kwabena Peprah, the team leader, shared their efforts to engage local brands in their venture.
On Facebook, he expressed that they had reached out to Kantanka Automobile’s management, but regrettably, received no acknowledgment from them.
In his post, Peprah mentioned, “We made attempts to collaborate with almost every major car dealer in Ghana, but unfortunately, they all turned us away.
We even tried to involve Kantanka to promote ‘made in Ghana,’ but we couldn’t even secure a meeting with the CEO. Undeterred, we decided to proceed with the vehicles we had and set July 25, 2020, as the departure date.”
The 16-day journey finally concluded over the weekend, sparking excitement among many Ghanaians.
Given the significant achievements accomplished through this initiative, numerous individuals have pointed out that Kantanka Automobile missed out on a valuable opportunity to showcase their products.
In response to the criticism, the CEO of Kantanka Group appears to align with this perspective, acknowledging that a promising chance was neglected, which could have been advantageous for his company.
Nana Kwadwo Safo Jnr lamented that he “was never contacted” regarding the partnership opportunity.
He expressed, “This is something I would have loved to be part of.”
However, he also issued a warning, stating that the individuals responsible for the supposed lapse in communication would face consequences.
He wrote on Monday, “A few heads will roll since it’s a Monday. This is something I would have loved to be part of.”
