Officials from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Twasam family of Ada recently visited the office of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, in Accra. The purpose of the meeting was to inform the Minister about the death of Christian Atsu Twasam, and to discuss plans for his funeral and the one week observation.
The meeting was attended by several officials, including Alhaji Hafiz Adam, Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Chief Accountant Dr. Haruna Osman Tweneboah, Chief Protocol Officer Diana Boateng, and Public Relations Officer Kenneth Annang.
The family was represented by Nene Kofi Twasam III, Head of the Twasam family of Ada, while the GFA was represented by Executive Council Member Nana Sarfo Oduro, Deputy General Secretary Alex Asante, and Director of Communications Henry Asante Twum.
Christian Atsu Twasam, who played for Chelsea, Everton, and Newcastle United, among other teams, scored nine goals in 65 appearances for the Black Stars over a seven-year international career.
The one week observation is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
